Serving our Community
Here you will find a selection of pics from bikes that were fixed as part of the CFC project over the last 2 years.
Set up in response to not being allowed out of the house except to walk, run or (thank God) Ride!
CFC opened the door to its modest workshop and took donations of bikes, components and money from kind community members to help get others out on 2 wheels.
Since then, much has changed with a fully refurbished workshop, website, top suppliers on board, Gold level Velotech & Trek University qualifications, insurance and a collection and drop off service (coming soon!)...
There are however, some things that haven't changed...
The same conscientious, friendly work ethic, great value, communication and emphasis on giving back to the community are, and always will be the driving forces behind Community Focus Cycles' ethos.
Got an old bike that you'd rather re-home than take to the scrap yard? Feel free to drop by or call to find out more about how you can help us on our mission.
Our Mission, Focused on the Community...
...local and worldwide
As ever, CFC will still take donations of pre-loved bikes in the hope that they can be fixed up and passed on to other people in our local and much wider community.
In recent months, CFC has teamed up with a local man named Musa Sambou in an effort to get some of our unwanted bikes to Africa. Musa comes from the Banjulinding village in The Gambia. It is to that village where Musa sends shipping containers filled with kitchen appliances, clothes, toys and of course, Bikes! Many of the bikes sent to CFC now make their way to Africa and change the lives of the people living there. What was once a 10-20 mile walk to work or school in now made much more manageable by the donations of bikes we receive from the Worth Valley area and beyond.
*Important note: CFC is not a registered charity and is not funded by anyone so we do sell bikes occasionally to further fund the project.
On another important note, at CFC we deplore waste and believe that global warming, pollution etc. is a global issue that can only be solved by each person doing their part to work towards a cleaner, brighter future.
So to help combat and offset some of the negative environmental effects that running a cycle workshop could have on our fragile world, Community Focus Cycles pledges that all recyclable materials and reusable components will be dealt with as such.
On top of that, we will work in partnership with Velorim.com to take old inner tubes and tyres and turn them into eco-friendly products to be used again rather than going to landfill.
Local decisions that are making an impact, Worldwide.
